SENY’s biggest event held at the Ohana floor at Salesforce Tower, April 24th 2019

It all started when…

Akshat Srivastava left AppDynamics after being an SE there for a long time but still wanted to keep in touch with other SEs there. He found there was no active sales engineering community in New York City area that would allow him to organize happy hours or get together in the city. He looped in Gee Chow and JP Ranaudo and pitched the idea of starting a meetup. Our first happy hour was held on July 12th 2018 and attended by 15 very enthusiastic folks. By 2019, Akshat contacted Owen McClave whom he had met earlier and Owen loved the idea of expanding SENY to a larger audience. Eric Glick, who had joined SENY in 2018 also agreed to be part of one of the panel events on SE hiring and loved the idea of expanding SENY. He brought in his friend and former colleague Samuel Pena to complete the core team. All of the founders bonded on a similar vision for SENY - which was to build the largest SE community in the Greater NYC area.

Today, SENY exists as a 300+ members community that hosts quarterly SE events focussed on networking, learning and mentorship. If you want to become a part of our community or contribute as an organizer, join today.
